In a playground that is more likely to be hell, walking together hand in hand is a safe way to discover this new world. by: enrica Views[288] People try to go on with their lives and do what they did before escaping from their villages. This man is 72 years old and left Syria at a sudden with his son. They had a bakery that has been destroyed and they have now arranged their new shop in an emergency building, decorated with a painting of the Kurdish flag and the picture of Masoud Barzani, the founder of the democratic Party of Kurdistan and President of the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq. He gives pitas, the local bread, for free to all refugees who cannot afford to pay for it. by: enrica Views[290] Due to lack of space and overcrowding, tents are often shared by more than one family. People soon get familiarized and even find a reason to smile, but most of the children wonder what's going on, and try to give an answer. Dalila is 6 years old and loves painting. When she saw this picture on the screen she asked me to give her colours to do the same image, and hang it on her tent. by: enrica Views[281] One day of walking divides the Syrian-Iraqi border to the Domiz refugees' camp. Syrian people arriving here after having been travelling for days have nothing to carry but exhausted children and lots of hope in their eyes.
