We have arrived...

BRAZIL | Friday, 5 February 2010 | Views [721] | Comments [3]

Currently sitting in my hostel in Rio.  We got here late on Tuesday night after a 12 hour flight.  After some slight concern, the hostel did in fact have our booking so it was all pretty easy.  Our first port of call was the bar at the hostel, where we met loads of people staying here (all British/Aussie/Irish obviously)

The weather here is insane....it was 27 degrees when we arrived at midnight, and is reaching around 37 degrees during the day.  We´ve mainly been taking in the local area, i.e. sitting on Copocabana beach.  Have met some pretty awesome people already, and so have had some great nights out at local bars already.  Have bumped into 2 people from uni, and obviously a whole group of Israelis already.  We´re now on day number 3 and planning on heading up to the Christ the Redeemer statue, followed by a massive street party tonight...should be good

What a fantastic trip you are having..quite mouthwatering.Glad you managed to catch up a bit on some sleep and sun bathing.

Your parents have probably told you all about our weekend in Paris. It really was great and a real break for us after having gone nowhere for 6 months.Only 4 more weeks to go.Never would have believed how your Father arrives for transport the day before!!!

We are going for the weekend to Cirencester to see Graham and are having lunch on Saturday with "the boys" (Robert and William) in their new home which is fairly nearby. Will report on it thereafter.

As you probably know(proud grandmother here basking in the light of all her grandchildrens achievements that Jake has got a full scholarship to John Lines and Ben a full scholarship to City of London! They are not too sure about that one for he does not want to go until he is 13 and there is always the question of him getting to and fro so we will see.
Will sign off now before I lose everything that I have written!

Keep well and safe and we miss you.

Lots opf love Grandma xxx
