My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Mexico | Friday, August 27, 2010 | 6 photos

Love the Earth. It makes me feel alive, really alive. I don't know nothing or much about it, just that nowadays it seems she is suffering much from our own existence... When I visit remote places far away from my City, I feel as safe and whole as ever. These photos were taken at very rare and "lonely" places. Trying to overcome many of my own thoughts I've always tried to "escape" from this reality I find myself in. It seems to me that somehow I feel at home whenever the unknown surrounds me. I would've never expected to think about an opportunity like this one, ever. But it seems to me like one in a lifetime, the ones that make you feel higher than ever, eventhough I may not be chosen I appreciate it more than anything, because it seems to me one of the most fullfilling and greater experiences one could ever have. So, whoever is the chosen one I hope he feels just as I do right now when filling this forms. Photography is about passion, I think, about feeling good about what you are doing and doing it with much humbleness and respect for the places and the people you are shooting. NatGeo has always been an inspiration to me, it seems you really know how to choose people with the right eye, the right mind and the right heart to do the things that when I see them posted in your magazine it makes you really feel that you are there, and appreciate the beauty of our real and caring mother, the Earth. I hope you find that person, because Bhutan is more than a place, like anywhere else it's a living entity, so I simply know it'll be more than well done and expressed when you have finished the job. Hope you really keep doing the good work, for us to really understand where we come from, and what it is that we really are and where we are standing on. Thanks for the opportunity.
