Kim, Col & Casey in South America Living it up on a South American west-side adventure!

Colombia (and Ecuador)

I spent a considerable amount of time on the trek following the porter´s or guide´s back like this. I felt great while hiking the trails, and was able to keep up with them when a lot of others had fallen behind. It was good fun keeping up with the porter over the slippery and uneven terrain. Granted, I did have the advantage of only having a small day pack on my back, where as he was carrying about 25 kilos. Strong spry lad still managed to almost lose me a couple of times. I think he was having fun racing ahead with me, because he started encouraging me to take off whenever he did.
