    “Look Out Here I Come!” Taking Hazel my 9-month-old Labrador for an afternoon swim in the Pioneer River is always entertaining. I captured Hazel just as she was about to launch herself on top of my friend. His look is one of fear as he knows the outcome will be painful. by: dokart Views[209] “Paparazzi on the Pioneer “ I wanted to share my early morning experience on the Pioneer River with a friend. As I pedalled along my friend was snapping away madly, overwhelmed and in awe of the beauty surrounding her. by: dokart Views[191] “Pioneer Silhouette” Sitting outside on a balmy North Queensland night, the full moon lit up the sky. I drove to the Pioneer River and parked on the boat ramp, opened my sunroof and put the camera on 20 second exposure. I love the feeling of this photo. The silhouette of the man on the pontoon, taking in the moment as the moon is embraced by thick clouds and a star twinkles on the water. by: dokart Views[186] “Last to Leave” A small group of Chestnut-Breasted Mannikins were balanced on overhanging grass along the riverbank; they are easily disturbed and as I drifted along in my kayak, as predicted they took flight…all except this little guy. I could hardly breathe as my kayak drifted closer to the bank I was wishing for brakes, but I knew I couldn’t take my eye off the subject. Crashing would have been worth it for this little Mannikin who usually escapes me! by: dokart Views[252] “Fishing at Sunset” I saw this lone fisherman after I had packed away my camera. It was such a peaceful setting; the sun had disappeared, casting a beautiful glow across the river and I knew I had to capture it. Just as I was about to take the photo the fisherman stepped back, hidden by the bridge pylon. by: dokart Views[228]
