Dublin to Kilkenny

IRELAND | Thursday, 31 January 2008 | Views [376]

On Tuesday we headed back to Dublin to celebrate Brian's birthday! We went out to a great little Italian restaurant and drank and ate to we were all about to burst!

Before arriving back in Dublin, Kate detoured and took me down to County Wicklow, which was just beautiful. You wouldn't expect such scenery so close to Dublin. We went to Powerscourt for lunch and boy were we treated. The food was magnificent and the view - wow!

We soon set off and again we hit the shops once we arrived back for some last minute shopping for Brian's birthday, well that is what i blame it on anyway. I found a great little jacket that i just couldn't pass up! I don't know who said it was expensive over here, food yes, but clothes is a heap cheaper! I regret packing everything i did - yes i can hear those saying 'i told you so'!

Today, Wednesday, we headed south west to Kilkenny. Oh my goodness, I thought Dublin and Galway were cold, Kilkenny is worse! They have told us to expect snow tonight and tomorrow, which would be great to see!

We have found ourselves another great bargain at the Hiberian Hotel, right in the centre of things! We almost weren't going to come in as it looked to costly, however we sweet talked the guy on the desk and got a great deal!

We went and toured Kilkenny Castle, have had tea and scones and will soon head out for a few beverages and dinner!

Tomorrow we are heading back to Dublin, after going to Rock of Cashel, so we are back in time for Kate's birthday on Friday! We are staying at Brian's hotel that night, the Brooks Hotel, which is beautiful, and going to the theatre to see Beauty and the Best.

Hope everyone is well!

Until my next entry or big adventure...
