    The fishermen. India attracts many tourists as a place where one can get away from the daily hustle and bustle to lead a relaxed and measured life. But most Indians do not have this opportunity, working hard every day earning their tucker. One of the most common occupations among India’s lower castes is fishing. Most fishing villages are located right on the coast, where inhabitants live in thatched huts and park their boats side by side nearby. Children are actively involved in helping the adults’ daily work. In the photo: two children carrying a fishing net, fishing village on the shore of the Bay of Bengal, Konark, Orissa.
