    A true "wet season" or "Season of colors" experience. Every single time I go back to the tropical town of Darwin, in the Northern part of Australia, I feel like entering a different world. A world where life is still so different, where things are still so much more relaxed, where only 2 seasons really rule

    Darwin is not for nothing the Darwin wouldn't be the same without its truly spectacular mangroves that cover a big part of the coast line here up north. These truly unique , but so important trees are a heaven when it comes to photography. Here it almost looks like the trees are tip toeing out of the water. And all I was waiting for was to see one of the mighty salt water crocodiles roam the Mangroves. by: dieterberghmans Views[1727] Darwin's foreshore is partially covered by the most amazing and colorful rock formations you can imagine. It just adds to the colors of the ocean and the skies experienced here in the top end. But when I took this photo of a rock pool within the rock formation , I realised that the reflection made these amazing figures within the photo. This photo is a challenge and you can get lost in it. But first just look into it, then look even deeper into it....look for the faces. Then turn your head left and look at the faces that way. Then turn your head and look for the perfectly reflected kangaroo and other faces created by the rocks. It is almost like a totem pole with many stories told on it. by: dieterberghmans Views[972] With Kakadu National park being the back yard of the Darwinites, Gunlom Falls is one of the top attractions to visit in this truly spectacular and ancient National park. Once on top of the falls there are these truly magnificent rock pools that not only bring the perfect relief after the big climb, ut once relaxing in the pools, the views are that breath taking that you just feel on top of the world. by: dieterberghmans Views[2295] Darwin's Nightcliff jetty is the attraction for all the locals, every day of the year . It is the jetty that the people flock to, the place they bring their chairs and tables to, all to enjoy the views, the tropical feel, to eat their fish and chips or to watch the spectacular lightning storms that brighten up the skies during the Build up and wet season. Just walking past the jetty around sunset, makes you feel like you really get the feel of what Darwin and its people are all about! by: dieterberghmans Views[2233]
