Argghhh. I had written this story all out and then it disappeared. So here we go again!
I'm writing from my ultra-hip hotel in Christchurch. It's around 8 p.m. on Sunday. I love this hotel; it's like Apple designed it - but without being overly pretentious. It's in a great location too and it's so cheap and I got upgraded to a double room for free. My hotel room is all efficient with sliding glass bathroom doors, customizable mood lighting, and a plasma tv to boot. Plus there's free wireless and free Macs to use in the lobby - where I am right now.
I woke up this morning with a very sore throat, itchy sandfly bites all over, and legs so sore it hurts when I do any walking at all. No worries though; nothing a little cold mountain air won't fix! Fortunately I spent about 7 hours on the bus from Nelson to Christchurch, so I got lots of rest.
Tomorrow I am going on a tour to visit Mt. Potts station (a.k.a. Edoras). There should be some gorgeous scenery provided the weather doesn't suck too much. It's rainy and cold right now. Tomorrow I gotta get all decked out in thermals, windproof jacket, outer jacket, beanie, wool socks and hiking boots.
