A Day Exploring The Inca Civilization

PERU | Thursday, 18 November 2010 | Views [327]

Today was so much fun! We went to see the old Inca ruins. We went to two different ruins, the first was Pisac which is inThe Sacred Vally which was tons of fun. We learned more history about the Inca tribes and how they told the time of the year, judging but the positioning of the sun. The second place was Moray. Its elevation is ~3700m. It wasn't hard to breath for me but I ran down a very steep, short-cut in like a minute and it was about a 200 m drop in elevation and I ran about a kilometre or two. It wasn't tiring, just made me really thirsty, my brother got a video of me running =) It was a traitorous drive up the road of a million switchbacks and a road as wide as a car with a 400 metre drop on the sides. It was a very scary drive. On our way to Moray we stopped by a llama/alpaca farm. We got to go in the pens with the beasts and hand feed then alfalfa. We also got to pet them. Lucky me only got sneezed on once by a llama ;) It made me jump because llamas are very tall and didn't see it come up behind be because I was feeding a different llama. It was a great day of hiking, training so I don't get fat on my trip and, a very educational day about the Inca civilization and exploration.
