Hola amigos,

Great journey over to Spain on the ferry.  First 3 nights camping at Laredo which is about 30 minutes from santander. Great campsite on a long sand spit with beaches, dunes and forest on both sides.  Spent the last couple of days exploring the area by bike.  Monday was fiesta day so two of the villages we visited were having parades and music.  Tuesday we caught a small ferry across to Santona (bit hair raising as we had to carry our bike up a small gang plank!)  Santona is the anchovy capitol of Spain so there were loads of anchovy factories, it all smelt a bit fishy.  Travelling inland to the mountains today.

Great to hear from you Elaine, thanks for your best wishes.  Hope all at Newground are enjoying the summer and have had great holidays.

Adios, Dawn xxxx
