What a fascinating city. Such a mix of old and new. Vanessa and I have walked and walked and walked around the streets. Partially because of bad navigation (not lost...really) and just wandering through different areas.
Saw plenty of dog walkers with their mobs of well fed and happy dogs. Must be a city thing.
Missed the sunset so didn´t get to the the big rose closing for the evening. A large mechanical flower that opens at first light and closes and last light. Very natural?
The soup and pasta was the last straw for me last night. I lost it. Crap food is fine when out camping but this is a buenos aires in argentina a place known for it´s big steaks. So today Vanessa and I went out and found a nice tenador libre (as much as you can eat) and ate a LOT of food and I scoffed lots of meat. Vanessa had fish - how uncoth.
Today was supposed to be a lets get a visa from brazil emabassy. No. Why not? because they are stupid. They wanted not only proof of a ticket leaving brazil but a ticket showing when we would arrive. What the? as if we know when we are arriving at the moment. So we are just going to cross our fingers and go to the border when we head up to brazil.
Speaking of what the? The standard response in south america to do you speak engish is no. Shouldn´t it be no entiendo ( I don´t understand)? and another. This should be a law of some kind. South americans, Regardless of the width of the footpath, will manage to fill it to make it impossible to pass. Another in argentina. Smoking is still allowed in restuarants and hostels (unless it is dope) and it seems that the news about cancer has not arrived yet.
A question to ponder. What do south americans consider porn? The advertising around the city is eye opening and head turning!
It is also true that many of the girls are beautiful and curvacious in Buenos aires and for some reason even with fat bums their jeans wear well. Just have to duck before the strike from Vanessa arrives :-) Not all jeans though and there are plenty of fatties as well. Yes jean abuse is here. Maybe it is just a law of numbers with 16 million in the city. Yes. There are also good looking guys as well.
Vanessa and I are heading to Uruguay tomorrow. No visa required. Yay. Will have to come back to Buenos aires as the buses run to paraguay and brazil from there.
