La paz

Hola Amigos,

In bolivia.

Border crossing was easy enough for most of us. Adam, american, was thrown into a windowless interogation room and harrassed by 3 beefy bolivian police officers. Eventually got through with a bribe. Tough being American in bolivia.

tough also being a sheep. as we drove along there was van after van coming towards us with live sheep and and at least one alpaca tied up on the roof. One even had a bungi cord net to hold them on. Was waiting to see a cow on the back of a motorbike but it didn´t happen. Plenty of photo opportunities as we were in roadworks with a single lane open and we met head on with one of the vehicles. Easy solution. Truck beats minivan. Law of the south america roads - truck beats bus beats van beats car beats motorbike beats bike beats pedestrian. Passed the source of livestock - the livestock market.

Arrived at La paz. 3500m. Will stay for a while. Finished our tour with Kumuka. Happy days.

Have accomodation in the witches markets. Creepy market place with lots of potions and dried animal foetuses. Acommodation is actually hidden away behind the markets and looks pretty good.

Starting to plan our next movements but are not in any big hurry.

To be continued....with more pics?

Adios,

David & Vanessa
