Welcome to the beautiful and unique Taquile Island, on Lake Titicaca. This Island is protected by the UNESCO because their people are known for their fine handwoven textiles and clothing, regarded as some of the finest quality handy crafts in the world. Their textile art is produced as an everyday activity, mostly by men and children and worn by all members of the community. In fact, males have to needle the dress for their future wife.
