    Men wearing red hats mean they’re married. Those with coloured hats are considered to be important or old people. At the party they drink beer and PURE sugar cane alcohol. Of course they end up completely drunk and I was told it's pretty common to see them sleeping all over the fields, straight under the sunlight. And it was only the 2nd day of celebration! by: danielotta Views[875] According to their ancient laws and traditions, the couple getting married are not allowed to stand up or dance, but guests can! The husband and wife must remain sitting while everyone celebrates. This is so strict that they even have to be fed by their relatives. by: danielotta Views[405] Weddings in this island last 8 days and the couple must remain sitting like that. They don't use invitations, all the people in the island (about 2.200) must go to the wedding party. Every guest has to attach money to their clothes and they will be provided with food and drinks. 35 sheeps had been killed for this unique wedding. by: danielotta Views[453] Welcome to the beautiful and unique Taquile Island, on Lake Titicaca. This Island is protected by the UNESCO because their people are known for their fine handwoven textiles and clothing, regarded as some of the finest quality handy crafts in the world. Their textile art is produced as an everyday activity, mostly by men and children and worn by all members of the community.
