Fremantle has since become a cultural hub in Western Australia. Street performers are a part of daily life. Miss Poppy an immigrant from New Zealand sings reggae songs to make a living ,albeit out of tune.

The Welcome Wall's Memorial illuminated by the setting sun and set against the South Mole Lighthouse are located at the Western Australia Maritime Museum in Fremantle. The wall has 21,000 inscriptions, almost half of the 45,000+ immigrants who arrived by boat in Fremantle & Albany during the mid to late 18th century and early 19th century.

While full of affable characters Fremantle is also home to many cultures. Ms Fan who is from China is one of the local fresh food market sellers.
