Copacabanna and Isla del Sol

UNITED KINGDOM | Sunday, 22 August 2010 | Views [522]

after a really smooth border crossing we arrived in Copacabanna (not the beach in Rio) late. The group headed out to a local restaurant for dinner. My table of 6 ate well and drank for under 25quid. We ended up going out for a few drinks as there is no driving tomorrow.

The following morning we headed by boat to Isla del Sol. This is where the Incas beleive that their god reached into Lake Titikaka from and placed the sun in to the sky. There is also a Isla del Luna where they believe the same with the moon.

Isla del sol is increddibly pretty. there isn't much to the island appart from a rather poor excuse for a meuseum and a few rubbish ruins but the island is really pretty.

In the evening we went to the restaurant run by the Bolivian 'Fixer'. again i decided on the trout (monitary reasons this time) and it was supper nice. The following day was a drive to La Paz so i decided to hit the hay.
