To start off i want to reply to the numerous comments about spelling mistakes. Well the answer is that i dont have a spell checker am using bizzare keyboards and to be honest have better things to do (sit on a beach, have a pint, etc) than proof read my blog when you can get the gist even with the errors. So to the case in hand:
After leaving Arequipa we headed over some very high mountain passes to Chivay. This caused me to get quite bad altitude sickness so when we arrived i was feeling particulally shit. I think we reached an altitude of approx 4800m. Thats high to those that dont know. Once we checked in just to improve the situation we went to possibly the worst restaurant in the world. It was disgusting. everything and i mean everything tasted of cucumber, chicken included.
After a rather crap sleep we headed along a very bumpy dirt track road to the colca Canyon. This is a very popurar tourist route yet they still dont have a propper road. I have come to learn that in South Ammerica the only roads are in city's and majuor roads. Although this isnt always the case for the latter.
The Colca Canyon however was amazing. at its deepest point it in 4km deep (thats deeper than the 'Grand' canyon). we then went to watch the condors glide on the thermals. these birds are massive and i took some great pictures of them which are on Facebook (appologies but they wont upload on to here for some reason).
After the canyon we returned to Chivay and went to the thermal springs. this is effectivley a naturally heated Lido and was actually a bit poo. In the evening we went for a Pizza and early to bed as we had a long drive to Cusco (Capital of the Incas) the next day.
