After camping on the beach we had a long drive day to Arequipa. It turned out to be exactly that, LONG. Once we arrived we had dinner in the hotel as noone could be bothered to venture out. Afer dinner Sam (the tour leader) played the piano as he used to be a pro pianist.
The next morning i got up around 9 (This is a lie-in for overlanding). We walked in to the centre of Arequipa and had a look around including taking in the cathedral. After too much culture we went shopping for truck pants. These are effectivley the most garish trousers that you can find. these are obligotory on truck days and most of us "Youngsters" have them. In the afternoon we headed back to the hotel and chilled by the pool oing blog's etc.
In the afternoon we went out and showed Arequipa how to drink. We started off in a traditional Peruvian restaurantand i had Alpaca. Try it if you have the opportunity its nice. we then went out drinking to a few bars and got rather wellied.
The following day i awoke still drunk. and we headed off to see Juanita. Juanita is a mummy that was sacrifised on top of a mountain and then frozed. This wasn't intentional but has allowed her to remain in perfect condition. you can still see muscle definition, facial features and everything. its quite spooky.
In teh afternoon we headed off for a long drive to Chivay
