Disneyland here we are!!!
We have stepped back into our childhood and taken the day to explore the magic of California's Disneyland!!!
What can I say, we were not really sure what to expect, and were not sure how child focused this park was... Being a Saturday we shared our experience with thousands of others and the lines for rides were a little trying,, We did however have a great day – With a start our at seeing Disney and Mickey!
We then walked through the mad hatter area to jump on our first ride for the day, The matterhorn bobdsled ride – it wasn't quick, it wasn't scary but it didn't matter as we were here... We then decided to get some real thrills and headed for the Its a Small World ride – Now this was aimed at two year old but was great for a laugh...
From here we had a short stroll to explore Mickey's Toontown...
We were lucky enough to see our favorites including Mickey and Goofy :)
And we had some other fun in this little town,,,
We made sure that we went on every ride including Pirates of the Carribean and this ride was superb! We walked through the haunted house which was really great (filled with ghosts and all)...
Then we decided to get in touch with our wild side and were on the Indiana Jones experience – This was brilliant (the 40min line up was all worth while!)
After being robbed at lunch (not literally but the cost of food and drink in this place is like giving your money away to a total stranger and walking away....) we had one of the longest waits was to go on the Nemo ride in a submarine – very child friendly but the boys had fun LOL...
It was then another 40 min wait for Space Mountain – the ride was crazy as you couldn't see a thing but managed to get the adrenaline pumping... With nothing but space in mind it was a short walk and long wait for the Space Tour ride – It was great to R2D2 and C3PO in their element – it was a great star wars experience!
For a laugh afterwards we had fun in the gift shop where Pat and I got a little bit closer to Yoda... Very funny photos....
With the scifi in mind we managed to get time to sit in the “Honey i shrunk the audience” show – this was great – very much like the original movies however in 3D... It had been a long long day, so we walked to the other side of the park to jump on the popular splash mountain,.... It was late and cold so what else would you want to do but go on a ride which almost guaranteed you to get wet... It was the longest wait of the day almost 50min for a 2 min ride but we were lucky that the man at the front of our log managed to get the majority of the splash following our 50 ft fall.... So much fun.... So after 8 hours at Disneyland we had a little time looking through the stores, caught a glimpse of a parade and called it a day....
The best fun of the day was the ride to Santa Monica on the freeway – we experienced what true LA traffic was all about as every road seemed to be gridlocked and this kept up for almost an hour – great fun had by all!!!!! We have 3 nights left in this amazing journey and will spend this in the beautiful Santa Monica.....
