Comfortably Uncomfortable

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

I met a friend who had been living in India for a while before I arrived. Over a conversation on a bus ride, we talked about how he was used to being the majority at home and in India, experienced being a minority and always looked at for the first time. I talked about how I felt caught between not wanting to be the stereotypically loud and obnoxious American college student but not the stereotypically obedient Chinese daughter either.
