Crews of families and volunteers start inflating hot air balloons for the night glow that starts after sunset. The man in orange is working the crown line, used to help keep the balloon upright. It can be a real struggle to keep the balloon upright if the winds are too strong. Indianola, Iowa.

Balloon pilots and co-pilots navigate using maps, GPS, and communications via radio with chase vehicles below. They are given the coordinates of multiple targets, which they must fly as close to as possible. They then throw baggies marked with their number, which judges measure for distance from target.
