Day 28 - Slowing Down

NEPAL | Tuesday, 11 March 2008 | Views [354]

Things are starting to slow down a little as I get more accustomed to the Nepali way of time. Not having much work in the office isn't helping. I keep trying to do things to liven up the schedule but I am running out of new options fast.

Again today I was ditched at the office with no work. All of a sudden I had that sickening feeling in my stomach that suggests running to a toilet. Of course the toilet at the office doesnt flush, so what followed was a nervous 30min shuffle back to my hotel in Thamel. The suggestion was actually a lie, but it was still comforting to be in proximity to a toilet.

A bit of a fever kicked in later that afternoon, putting me in bed watching movies. I didn't get any better and had a really rough night with muscle cramps and general fatigue. I don't know what caused it, but i can't say I had too much fun. I couldn't sleep and with the blackout I couldn't watch any more movies to pass the time. Whilst definitely helping to liven up the schedule, it isn't something I want to happen again!
