the harvest moon sets in the morning...

the harvest moon sets in the morning...

The past three days I have been living life in Rioja! This region has not been as beautiful as Navarra, but once again, the friends I made along the way are what it's all about! Brasilianos, Equadorianos, Italianos and many Germans (I miss you Caroline!!!)...we all get together, share stories about life, dink wine and laugh.  So many languages at one table! We all do our best to communicate...and I think it's working out just fine.  As an American, I have the disadvantage...most other people speak at least 2 languages...my Italian is very rusty and my Spanish is just OK.

The feet are doing better...still walking about 25K each day, but no rush!  I am very lucky that I can sleep through almost anything.  Every night there are from 4 to 100 people in a room...a LOT of snoring going on!!! Also, the other night in Logronos, it was the festival of San Matteo...fireworks in the middle of the night, people yelling throughout the streets, I slept like a baby.  All my friends are jealous...I guess having lived in New York City has its advantages..ha ha.

I am off to the market...if they have what I want, I will be cooking for everyone tonight...you know how I love to cook! I learned some simple and special recipies along the way...there is a lot to talk about when you are walking all day.

Ciao reggazzi!
