This cementhery of trains belongs to the XIXth century, when the wagons used to transport all the silver extracted from the mines of Pocaluyo to the main cities of Bolivia.

Colchani is the only town found inside El Salar de Uyuni. Aswell as the railways and the trains, most of the houses are abandoned.

Most of the families of Colchani lives from the extraction and sell of salt. This activity is the only one in this town.
