A leisurely morning today as we weren't due to arrive in Kusadasi until 1pm. Scott relaxes up on deck by the pool and Col is having acupuncture for her weary feet.
2 tardy cruise ships ensure we weren't able to dock until 2pm. We need to be back on board by 7.30pm, but Col is feeling decidedly crook. She thinks it is seasickness as she was face down on the acupuncture table, but the cruising had been very calm. We headed off to a shaded cafe for Col to get some respite and take advantage of their free wifi. After about an hour and a half, Col felt a little better and we walked around the foreshore. It is too late to go to Ephesus, a site that Col's son Matt said was a must see. We are both disappointed. We ended up walking through the Bazaar, which we are told only has 3,000 shops. It is open air and more spacious than Istanbul. We wandered through and still get harangued to buy. It is quite entertaining, as some stores have signs that read 'no hassle' and we exchanged friendly banter. It seems that half of the store holders have stores in Melbourne! It is more relaxed than Istanbul, however. We stop off at a supermarket on our way back to the ship. The local currency is Turkish Lire, but they also accept Euro and US $. Our bag is ridiculously cheap at €13.
