I feel like I've discovered an old treasure. When I first became a christian 16 years ago, I stumbled across some books on prayer written by Jeanne Guyon (born in 1648). She spoke of a deep connection with God through meditation on God's word and contemplation. Being a young christian at the time, and not knowing anyone who knew what I was talking about, I struggled to put into practice the things she taught. For the first time since then, I'm hearing someone teach on this very subject. I feel as though my heart is feasting on a banquet of the richest food as I put into practice, with new understanding, the things I learned so long ago.
As I'm typing this, I just received a message asking why I haven't written in my journal for a while! I'm glad you guys are reading this :-) Life has been a tad busy since the retreat, but I'm back! I've also added some more photos of a little trip that my housemates and I went on to Whiskeytown lake. Its about 20 minutes drive from home. I've also added a few photos of my lovely jogging spot to my Redding gallery. Its literally 5 minutes walk from my house. Nice!
