Yesterday we had a fantastic surprise. Heidi Baker (http://www.irismin.org/p/background.php) made an unexpected visit to Bethel and spoke at the school. She carries a love for God and a depth of relationship with Him that is rare and a true inspiration.
Every week, starting at the end of October, all the 1000 students will go out every thursday afternoon to pour the love of God on the people of Redding. Today we found out what we will be doing in more detail. For the next eight weeks, I'm on the Treasure Hunt team. The aim is to find the specific people that God wants to touch around the town, ie God's treasure. So we ask God for words of knowledge about the person and where we will find them. For example you may feel the location is in Walmart, they're wearing black pants, have a neckbrace on. Perhaps you sense their neck was injured due to a car accident that happened two years ago. You write all this down and then off to Walmart you go. You walk around and believe it or not, you'll see a woman wearing black pants with a neckbrace on. You'll speak to her and find out that it happened due to a car accident two years ago. By this time she's shocked that you know those details and lets you pray for her. The power of God comes on her and her pain goes completely. Then you introduce her to Jesus, the one who loves her and healed her. Sounds too incredible? What I've just described is a true story, and one of thousands like it!
