In the recent years, political situation become more stable and travelers can easily obtain a permit to venture further the so called "Inner Line". Beyond, the wonderful scenery of the Nubra Valley and its monasteries are the reward for those who dare adventure on the world’s highest motorable road. This picture shows the mountains just crossed and, on the hill bottom right, the “giant” Buddha statue of the Diskit monastery.
