    This is an old school building at the Masitise Mission Station. It has been abandoned for the last ten years and a Tree climbed on its interior, creating the perfect scene for a long exposure star trail photograph. by: carmels Views[821] This Basotho young man poses next to his improvised shack. Inside, there is only space for a long banch and wood stove, to help keep him warm through out the day. He is also a cattle herder and he is wearing a blanket, that he did the embroidering himself. by: carmels Views[897] Portrait of the old Herd Boy, while he takes a break from watching his cattle grazing. by: carmels Views[398] The Herd Boy is a distinctive feature of Basotho society. They carry a cane when they take the cattle grazing. The cane has a unique decoration, that represents the family they belong to, which literally serves as an ID book.
