My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I started learning about the importance of traveling when I was a little kid. It was my parents’ obsession to take my sister and I away on a trip each and every time we could. Seeing different places, talking to different people and experiencing different cultures made me realize from an early age how broad and beautiful the world is.
Every time I returned from these trips, the first thing I wanted to do was tell everyone who was willing to each and every story I remembered about the place I just visited. That’s when I discovered the power of photography; every time words were not enough to describe what I saw, a picture came in my rescue.
Last year I decided to fulfill my lifetime dream. I quit my job as an engineer and registered in a graduate journalism program in Canada.
I have always thought of photography as the perfect companion of written and oral storytelling. By going away on this scholarship and being able to learn from Jason Edwards, I hope to perfect my photography skills. I want to be a better all-around journalist and I hope to tell stories in the best possible way. I want people to see the world through my images and get inspired by the stories I have to tell.
