I am a storyteller. I aspire to be an artist, writer and traveler. I believe photography is a powerful medium of communication. As both a form of art and documentation, photography can enlighten, foster understanding and appreciation, and ultimately be a catalyst for real change within this world. This is how I want to contribute to the global community through photography, whether it be through the documentation of humanitarian issues, remote places, interesting people, or merely capturing a moment that will move someone somewhere in the world.
The opportunity to learn, travel and be mentored by Jason would expand my mind to new ways of seeing and photographing. I want to be extended and exposed to what it is really like to be out in the world as a photographer. I would love to dedicate my life to such a creative and challenging vocation.
When I am exploring the world with a camera, my experience of everything is enriched. Photography makes you really look and appreciate what could be lost through mindless inattention. It is this process of photography - of connecting to the landscape I find myself in and the people and creatures I find there - that is my true passion.
