My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 5 photos
My passion for photography began while camping with my family through California and Oregon. I acquired a deep-seated love for the outdoors that has forever guided my photography. When we moved to Texas, I had a difficult time reconciling with the less dramatic Texas landscape, but luckily I love to learn and I grew by observing and photographing my new home. I soon came to appreciate the state's subtle beauty, developing my passion for it at Camp Lonehollow, a summer camp in the Hill Country ripe with magical photographic moments. The high of taking a powerful shot that speaks to someone's personal discovery and the truth of their character is immensely fulfilling. At Lonehollow, these photos are posted online daily for parents to view their child's growth and accomplishments. Just as I photograph for the kids and parents of Lonehollow, I want to continue photographing places and people for the world to see. I am driven to share moments of clarity that define truths about a culture in order to encourage compassion for our planet and its inhabitants. Please consider my selfless goal of seeking meaningful images to enhance human wisdom.
