We arrived in the big, hot, humid, stinky city of South East Asia! I thought it would be overwhelming, but so far we have enjoyed every moment... the streets are filled with people and the city is a bit like an endless outdoor market.
Bangkok reminds me of New York in mid-August, thick humid air accentuated by car exhaust and a bit of sweat on your forehead; there is also loads to see and a certain excitement on the crowded streets. Vendors are selling food everywhere you look but unlike the hot dog and donut carts, Bangkok offers Pad Thai and fresh fruit (not sure why I always find myself mentioning the food).
On that note, Brian and I are here for five full days and are thinking we may take a single day cooking class, a short trip to the floating markets, and spend the remainder of the time roaming the streets (good advice D) or swimming in our guesthouses rooftop pool.
We were hoping to leave for Kathmandu (Nepal) earlier but flights were full so now we will arrive on March 16th. Anyway, we will post photos soon…
