The BIG Trip

Cousin Night

UNITED KINGDOM | Monday, 19 December 2011 | Views [406]

After walking the dogs and packing up our last few things we headed back toward London town. All trains running without a hitch and we got home in time to have a little rest – and for Bray to watch more How I Met Your Mother – before getting ready to go out again.

Roni’s cousins Stephen and Jeremy live in Lambeth and had invited us to dinner. Off we went, catching the tube after purchasing a couple of beverages to go with dinner. Found the way to their flat with no trouble and arrived just as Stephen was finishing teaching a guitar lesson upstairs. J sat us down and got us chatting until Stephen was finished then it was dinner time. Stephen had made a delicious lasagne and J’s salad creation skills are definitely up there!

Great food, tasty wine and fantastic conversation, Brayden had never met them and Roni last had a face to face conversation with them back in 2006 at a family reunion so there was definitely a lot to catch up on!

We heard about Stephen’s future plans, music, study, decisions coming up, options, composition and gigs. J shared about his work too, we loved the tapir and penguin gaming vid – priceless! We had our turn sharing about Bray’s proposal, how we got together in the beginning and some stories of our travels. J was off to Amsterdam the next day with friends so we got to share in that excitement too! A tour of their place, meeting the flatmate Andy, reading posters and Roni left an imprint of her face to prove we had been there.

Eventually we had to leave as it was almost time for the last tube – we didn’t want to, the cousins are COOL! No tube issues on the way home and once home some internet usage and a cuppa before bed in wee hours.
