Last day in
Codicote for a wee while...sad.
We got all
our gear sorted, took Gypsy and Milo for a farewell walk and had lunch with
Laura on her break before she took us back to Welwyn with her. We caught the
bus to Stevenage, train to Finsbury Park, tube to Clapham Common then walked to
Clare’s. Got there in time for catch ups, sharing our latest squirrel pics and
Roni even got to crush some pistachios for Melissa’s cranberry and pistachio
Christmas cookies that were underway – fun!
We headed
out after this and caught the tube to Queensbury to catch up with Chantell and
Rich (Chch Uni friends of Roni’s) for dinner. Since we were there a little
early we walked the road past many Asian and Middle Eastern speciality stores
plus an ice rink and various souvenir shops. Eventually headed back to the tube
station where we met Chonny and Rich.
They have a
favourite Thai place down the road called Tuk
tuk so we ate there- delicious! A bonus to be at a reasonable price, good
portion size and a warm place to catch up on all the latest news – which there
was a fair bit of as we haven’t caught up with them in a long time.
Eventually
we all went our separate ways (Rich going for a run on the way home as he is
training for an adventure race in Patagonia early 2012 – exciting!). We two
headed back to Clapham and shared stories of the night with Clare then packed
our little bags for Cardiff before we crashed out on the couch.
A decent
sleep had by all (mostly – Roni did kick Bray in the head once but he recovered
and restrained himself from responding in kind!).
