The BIG Trip

Lazy day in Friedrichshafen

GERMANY | Monday, 17 October 2011 | Views [591]

Today was definitely a lazy day. Fog ruled this morning so we lazed around reading books, on the computer, sleeping and basically taking it easy until a lat breakfast around noon.

Eventually the sun won out around 2pm and we walked to the water through town – via the Muller to purchase the first three seasons of Breaking Bad. Simon and Maren got totally hooked on this tv show and wanted to share the love. Once at the water we walked up the big viewing tower and appreciated what we could see of the Bodensee – Lake Konstanz is really massive! There was hardly any wind and the sun was lovely so we sat outside in the sun with a coffee and chatted for a while before heading along the waterfront in search of a fresh fish shop...we had decided that would be a tasty dinner. None to be found – although we got to see a HUGE zeppelin motoring around overhead and a funky fountain on our way back. At the chemist the lady told us of where to get fresh fish – hooray! – it was a wee way away so we decided on other kai for tonight.

Wandered on home past the kebab shop...hoping for a donor box but they don’t do them here...we settled for chips instead while Maren & Simon split a kebab. To the Norma supermarket on our way home to stock up on snacks and dinner for tonight.

We began our marathon of Breaking Bad and after a while ordered some pizza (we ate it with salad!)and consuming it in a break before continuing watching until early Tuesday morning. Simon’s cry of, ”Just one more...” eventually had to be ignored so we could get at least a little sleep!
