This morning we awoke to another beautiful day in Ha Long.
At breakfast Trouc gave us the :-( news that there was a typhoon warning and the government had directed all boats to return their tourists to Ha Long City...so we were not going to Cat Ba Island national park, swimming on the beach there or staying there tonight :-(
We packed out our things then retired to Level 2 dining area after breakfast for a few fast-paced games of Yahtzee :-)
Around 11am we arrived at Ha Long wharf and disembarked.
Though our time was cut short we are DEFINITELY glad we made it to Ha Long. It is truly breathtaking and we met some fun people too!
Lunch in Ha Long then loitering about with our peeps while Trouc (our guide) worked on organising a bus to Ha Noi for us - there were MASSES of people as all the tourist boats had returned to port and were trying to get back to the city.
Eventually Trouc triumphed and we set off. A long, hot journey home.
On arrival in Ha Noi we parted ways sadly with our 'Sunrise Boat Family' then returned to the booking agency to get a refund for the time we missed. Easily sorted then we changed our bus ticket also - off to Hue tomorrow night!
Returned to our accomodation and had a wee rest (watching some X-Games 17 as Australia dominated the BMX mega ramp!!) before coming back to our favourite wi-fi spot for a munch and a couple of Tigers as we caught up on the travel journal.
Off now to have a drink on the top of something high and look at the Ha Noi nightime panorama....oooor maybe not...the rain has just arrived with a vengeance - our little bit of typhoon here in Ha Noi!!
