A mahout is jumping on back of elephants. After a hard working day for training, practicing, trekking… elephants always are relaxed by bathing on a river or a stream.

These images belong to my photo essay about the mahout's family living in the forest of Chiang Mai - Thailand. There was a chance for me to learn about the relationship between mahouts and their elephants in a short time - 3 days and also was enjoyed new experiences. The man is a mahout who is training and practicing for his elephant to pass through forest. This image belongs to my photo essay about the mahout’s family living in the forest of Chiangmai. In this project I had a chance to learn about the relationship between mahouts and their elephants in a short time - 3 days. Chiangmai is a famous city of travel with a huge number of elephant activities for tourists.

Elephants are giant guys and they must eat a lot of food per day so mahouts usually wake up in the midnight to take sugar-cane (kind of favourite food) for them.
