A Haitian man walks by the now leaning and heavily guarded Palais National. For a year after the quake, government officials were still seen removing government materials out of the heavily damaged building.

In the aftermath of the quake, tent cites were erected all over the country like this one near Pétionville. These boys are seen playing with a kite built from the still large quantities of garbage left laying around Haiti.

Since the majority of the city was heavily damaged from the quake, settlements popped up further and further away from the city. A Haitian women walks by a clinic built about an hour outside Port Au Prince.
