In the aftermath of the quake, tent cites were erected all over the country like this one near Pétionville. These boys are seen playing with a kite built from the still large quantities of garbage left laying around Haiti.

After the earthquake in Haiti, the rebuild was a long, slow process. Roads were lined with construction material, garbage and rubble for months after the disaster. Here a man walks roadside barely visible over the piles.

A Haitian man walks by the now leaning and heavily guarded Palais National. For a year after the quake, government officials were still seen removing government materials out of the heavily damaged building.
