Outer Harbor

Long: 61 deg – 53 min W

The adventure begins! Our first journey is a 3 day sail from Antigua to Grenada followed by 4 weeks exploring the Caribbean islands. We left Jolly this afternoon and anchored in the outer harbor to swim and clean Belle’s bottom ready for the sail. It is lovely and quiet with a half moon and a beautiful night sky away from the artificial light. I’m excited!

We have had a great day sailing averaging 7 knots with moderate seas.  I say we although I can take no credit for the day. The only sightings of interest were a thoroughly modern super yacht and sweet little flying fish. I ended the day gazing at an abundant sky and thanking my lucky stars. Perfect!

Dolphins and more dolphins a great start to the day. We have passed Dominica but have not seen any other sailboats, ships or ferries. Great sailing and once again the night sky is amazing! I am committed to learning more about the night sky any advice on guides/books will be greatly appreciated.
