In Batam you will see many of this type of house, literally people living above water, and use boat for transportation, I guess they live while enjoying life by watching sunset just right outside their window

Batam except having motorized vehicle as transportation, still use old day boat to transport people from place to place, unlike Venice that use Gondola mostly for pleasure, boat here at Batam purely use for transportation
