My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My biggest thrill is to take a photo of someone while I am on an overseas trip, and on my following trip to be able to give that person the photo taken months or years earlier. Many of the people have never seen a photograph of themselves before. These photos break down barriers without a word.
I contribute to the community and to photography by taking photos for sporting clubs, committee membership of my local camera club, and by returning prints to the people I photograph overseas.
I have a webpage where players download images, and have contributed to a photo sharing website as moderator.
Time with Jason will immerse me in a pressure cooker environment where I can learn from a professional, understand demands placed on a photographer and expectations from magazines, editors, and the reading public. I expect to learn to be more critical before pressing the shutter button, and to be able to predict what a photo will look like before I press the shutter. I want to become a better photographer by learning from the best, so what I give back will be better too.
