    A young monk stares out the window of a temple oblivious. I held up my camera toask permission for a photo. There was absolutley no reaction, as if he was entranced. So I took a few photos and left him to his contemplation. Siem Reap - Cambodia Views[240] Monks are dependent on on the generosity of others for their most basic needs. Alms bowls sit cleaned and ready for the morning walk. Each morning Monks walk the streets to receive gifts food and water from the public. In exchange the monks will recite a prayer fo the donor. Siem Reap - Cambodia Views[284] Orange robes dry outside the monk's dormitory. No washing machines or air conditioners here. The home built on stilts allows air to pass under the floorboards proving some relief from the oppressive heat. Siem Reap - Cambodia Views[310] Simple tools for a simple life. A handmade broom of twigs is held together with an orange strip of fabric torn from a monk's robe. Siem Reap - Cambodia Views[326] A kitten sits at the top of the steps to the monk's dormitory. A monks orange robes hang on the handrail. The kitten is dependent on the monks for food, in eacatly the same way as the monks are dependent on the generosity of public for their daily meals.
