The Doctor writes: Never knew much about Slovenia and even less about Ljubljana, but as MJ put it Ljubljana is disgustingly perfect.

This town has everything, a cool river flowing through the centre with old style buildings/cafes/shops on either side, a massive castle at the top of this big hill and an old town that is very much in tact and full of charm.

Even the rain didn’t dampen our fun here as there was much to see. We spent our last night having dinner by the river while some type of rehearsal concert was going on in the main square. So after we finished our meal we asked for the bill and the waiter replied with a few languages, first in English, Spanish and then in French. As he then told us with a cocky smile “I can speak 5 languages” which I assume he expected us to be impressed about. We weren’t. Then when he came back with the bill he said “I hoped you enjoyed the service”, clearly looking for a tip. He didn’t get one.
