from marmaris : "anna, what's your itinerary?"
blah blah...to izmir.
(strange look on someone's face)
"why're you going to izmir?"
from selcuk: "so, where're you going next?"
blah yah dee dah...then to izmir.
(face crumples up in a weird way)
"izmir? why?"
(this is so bad. NO offense to izmir. this is just my story.)
from pamukkale: ..........straight to the point
"izmir? there's nothing to see. it's just a big city."
from cappadocia: "where are you taking the bus?"
"izmir" i say.
"ooh, all the most beautiful (his hands go curvy)
girls are in izmir. but it's just a busy city...
there's nothing..."
"i know! nothing to see there!" i say.
(the next day)
"you're still going to izmir? ohh..you are meeting
someone there!"
"...???"
so, i take an overnight bus to izmir.
it is pouring. i've never seen the sky greyer and bleaker except in oregon and washington. yes, it's a big city. pretty fun and metropolitan i've heard. and i want to see beautiful turkish girls. you know what i mean. but...
At a Camil Coach desk : "Hi! Do you have any buses to Canakkale?...the next one's in 15 minutes? 1 ticket please."
izmir, another time.
ps. this turned out to be a long drawn out story
