My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Chile | Thursday, January 10, 2013 | 4 photos
I'm in my final steps to become a journalist, but since I have memory, photography attracted me deep. I do not remember the exact year I used for the first time a camera, but it was very young: I used to secretly enter my parent's' room, take their Pentax and imagine that I was actually taking pictures (because the camera did not roll). When I turned 13, I began to meet my first idols: Jim Brandenburg and Steve McCurry. Since then, my dream has been to be a photographer. I was lucky to be mentored by two great chilean photographers: Juan Marinello and Luis Poirot. With them, I began to discover the magic that contains the moment in which you reveal a photo, but most of all, I discovered the majesty that can have the light. And from that moment, it was born one of my obsessions: architectural photographs capture in black & white, but most of all, playing with the effects of the light. I learned a lot, but I feel I'm still missing a lot, that I'm still dippers. But one of the few things I have clear is that this is what I want to do with my life. This is why I would love to win: to continue to learn and to, somehow, start repaying to photography everything that she he has given me.
