FAITHFUL FRIEND. Not only the candles were changed by the engines; the carts moved by oxen and horses, which helped land the products, have completely disappeared. Now the smaller boats are the ones that help stranded boats to get near the coast. However, the animals haven´t disappeared from the landscape of the port: a few pets accompany the fishermen through every moment of their journey. And on important dates, like the days before New Year, tens of lambs and ducks are brought into these vessels for their subsequent sale.

No matter neither age nor sex: the whole family is present, especially women. Salvador Zurita Mella, poet of the area, portrayed this way the woman from Chiloe when they arrive to the port:

THE LANDING.
Because of the lack of infrastructure, people go by from ship to ship, as a makeshift dock, with several pounds of potatoes on their shoulders, seafood baskets or bouquets from the area, toward a free market left to one side. However, many products stay in the boat and this is how the boats become floating businesses. Many local families come to bargain with the people who are on board, in search of lambs (live), seafood or meat, which is slaughtered in the same place. Although Angelmó has changed a lot since the nineteenth century, this scenario, both the arrival and landing of these fishermen and farmers, is still a sight to many visitors.
