Caught the train from Luzern. Found our Hotel without any trouble, great location and very cute. Walked around the town all afternoon. Stumbled on some horn blowers, and some delicious mushroom risotto, quite the find. It’s all about watches, chocolate and swiss army knives, sampled a devine champagne truffle at the swiss chocolate chalet, can’t believe the slabs of chocolate…paradise found!! The Jungfrau marathon was on, so very busy. Heard that a New Zealander won it. Some very fit and gorgeous men around!! In contrast, nearly everyone smokes here, maybe coming home with a slight case of emphysema!!!
Went up to Schilthorn. The scenery absolutely stunning and spectacular. Stopped off at Murren on the way down. The houses are so cute, just like something off a chocolate box. Ended the day at Gwindelwald and went up to Pfingstegg, went on the Luge, was a little how you going about it when we saw heaps of children getting off it, but had a go any way, turned out to be pretty fun. Lots of very contented cows, all moving to the sound of their own bell! Jo very happy to see some free range pigs, and sheep with tails! Animals definitely have it good in Gwindelwald. Funniest thing was the baby bull who thought he was a dog, wanted to play with everyone, especially the pigs who were getting really pissed off.
Highlights: Evian Water 1Fr for a litre. The bread, the quark, and bircher muesli, the rostii, moules marinere and sausages.
